That is a sign that the connection has become weak and may be heating up because of reduced contact quality. It's hard to tell, but it looks like the tips of the questionable pins and sockets have lost their gold coating. Or it could just be heat causing the plastic to discolor. It looks like that is what is happening on the plastic around the pins in your connector.
